The University of Oviedo represents a destination of excellence for students and researchers. In its more than four centuries of life, it has positioned itself as an academic institution of reference in different disciplines and has distinguished itself by providing quality teaching and developing cutting-edge research. Since 2009, it has been recognized as a Campus of International Excellence.

The university campuses, which house 53 buildings, are located in Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres and are surrounded by nature. In fact, almost half of the space on the campuses is green space. The university has a Vice-Rectorate for Sustainability, Mobility and Environment that works to achieve maximum efficiency in the most sustainable environment possible.

The European University of Madrid, was founded in 1989 under the name of European Center for Higher Education (CEES), as a center attached to the Complutense University of Madrid, being recognized as a university by Law 24/1995 of July 17, 1995.

In October 2012, the European University of the Canary Islands began its activity,[8] becoming the first private higher education institution in the Canary Islands.[9] Based in Casa Salazar in the Villa de La Orotava (Tenerife), the center offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the areas of Social Sciences, Architecture and Engineering and Health Sciences.

The Universidad Europea has three university clinics, the Clínica Universitaria Policlínica and the Clínica Universitaria Odontológica in Madrid, and the Clínica Universitaria Odontológica in Valencia. Almost all of them provide theoretical, practical, clinical, competence and patient care teaching in the areas of Dentistry, Podiatry, Optics and Optometry and Physiotherapy, as well as different Masters and postgraduate courses related to these degrees.
